I found this moving Shelby...how you described finding your way through the darkness into the light (and of course the cycles will continue spiraling, like the seasons). I related to what you wrote ... I've been thinking about the enormous chasm between my daily joy and peace, my delight in the beauty of nature amid all the turmoil in the world...so many people and lands are in such deep struggle...and we're all in this together. I've worked to find and claim my inner peace and joy, and I do believe it ripples out. I've never known guilt to lift anyone else up. And yet, despite many delights in my life, my moments of feeling utterly "carefree" are fleeting, and that actually makes sense given all that is wrong in our world. Yet, joy and peace nourish me so I can act on my care and share my gifts. I wish this for everyone.
